Combination photo shows a file photo copy (upper) of the Huitong Bridge along the Stilwell Road in southwest China's Yunnan Province and photo (lower) of the same place taken on July 6, 2015. Donated by overseas Chinese from Baoshan of Yunnan Province, Huitong Bridge played a role in linking Baoshan and Longling, which located on the eastern and western banks of the Nujiang River respectively, when the Stilwell Road was built in 1938. Seventy years after the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Xinhua journalists recently re-visited the Stilwell Road linking southwest China's Yunnan and Myanmar, also known as the Burma Road, on which guns, ammunition, food and other badly needed materials were carried by U.S. trucks to China to fight against the Japanese troops.
